I redesigned the Marketplace Subsystem, co-created the Pattern Experience Pattern Library, and shaped the design of the Walmart Seller App.
Walmart’s Seller Center design was fragmented across multiple Figma files and outdated libraries. Duplicated components and lack of sync with the web library slowed onboarding and design work. Sellers needed a modern mobile app, requiring a rethink of IA and focus on key workflows like messaging, order fulfillment, and listing.
Create a unified, scalable design system to streamline product development and ensure consistent UX across platforms. Then, apply that system to launch a flexible, mobile-first experience for third-party sellers to manage their business on the go.
I started by aligning on the most critical seller workflows through stakeholder interviews, support tickets, and behavioral data from Seller Center. To deepen my insights, I used product analytics from Pendo and Doorbell.io, which helped surface pain points and opportunities for improvement.
"Everything about this platform is terrible. The most user un-friendly website in history. Make your website easier to navigate like eBay and Amazon."
"Terrible to manage and super hard to navigate! Also needs an app ASAP."
"Very difficult to navigate for someone new. The learning curve is DIFFICULT. Please SIMPLIFY this for your sellers!!"
I led the redesign of the Walmart Marketplace Subsystem, which evolved into building the Partner Experience Pattern Library and later the Walmart Seller App. The recent Walmart rebrand provided an opportunity to adopt new design tokens and create a dedicated mobile pattern library. These efforts improved consistency across teams, reduced duplication, and laid a strong foundation for long-term adoption and scalability.
I partnered with UX research to run usability testing, interviews, and A/B experiments with more than 1,500 beta sellers. Their feedback guided rapid iterations, from refining navigation patterns to tuning micro-interactions.
Teams reduced time spent creating new patterns by nearly half after adopting the redesigned system and pattern library.
Following the launch of the new library and onboarding materials, more teams began using the pattern library as their default source.
New team members are able to start contributing within days, rather than weeks, thanks to improved documentation and modular templates.
"I’ve been patiently waiting for a Walmart Seller app and super excited it’s here! It makes sourcing so much easier! And since sellers are always out and about, it’s awesome there’s something we can use when we are on the go. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I am not able to buy and print labels from the app. I’m guessing we will get there, but overall super happy with it!"
"I am absolutely loving this app. It is very easy and organized easy to use. I agree with another about no way to print labels for shipping but I just appreciate the notifications of orders. Thank you!"
"never miss an order bc I didn't log in. comes right in like a text message. love it."
"glad they came out with an app finally catching up to other online sites"
